Spiked Apple Cider Mimosa

What are your Thanksgiving morning traditions? Growing up mine used to include waking up to watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Now a days, it may still include that but also includes hunting and some tasty sips afterwards. This spiked apple cider mimosa is the perfect sip to start your morning out with this year! It's giving all the cozy vibes with cinnamon, apple and spiced rum with the orange and bubbles bringing brightness to it for the morning time. I don't know about you, but I can picture it now, sipping on one of these while prepping last minute menu items, including a board to munch on before dinner. Of course there will be a board! You know me all too well. Anyways, however you are spending your morning, I highly recommend it with one of these in hand! It will be a morning well spent, trust me. :) Also, why limit these to only Thanksgiving? They're great for the holiday season so add them to your cocktail list for all of your holiday get togethers!

 

Serves: 2


Ingredients:

  • 2 shots spiced rum

  • 4 oz apple cider of choice

  • Quarter of an orange, juiced

  • Orange slices, for rim

  • Prosecco or favorite bubbles, to top

  • Cinnamon

  • Sugar, for rim

  • Apple slices, for garnish

  • Fresh rosemary, for garnish


Directions:

  1. Wet the rim and outer edge of each glass with an orange wedge. Combine sugar and cinnamon spice on a plate and mix together. Coat the rim and outer edge of each glass with mixture.

  2. Combine the spiced rum, apple cider, orange juice and a sprinkle of cinnamon in a container with a lid. Shake well. Pour evenly into 2 cups.

  3. Top off each cup with bubbly. Garnish with an apple slice and fresh rosemary. Cheers with your favorite person!
