Pumpkin? Oreo? Need I say more?! If you have never had Oreo balls, you're missing out! Now imagine the yumminess of Oreos combined with pumpkin spice and white chocolate. Yes, I'm glad you asked, it is absolutely delicious! Don't get me wrong, these are definitely NOT a healthy treat. They are very indulgent. But as they say, take everything in moderation. Especially during the Holiday season! And I highly encourage you to taste this bite size flavor explosion. They really are the best. And? They are super quick & easy to make! They're the perfect treat addition for your kids classroom party or as a light dessert at all your holiday parties. Decorate them for a halloween goody or top with pumpkin spice to serve at Thanksgiving! Either way, your guests are going to be sure to love them and they'll be requesting more! This is for sure a double the batch recipe if you ask me. :) PLUS, you can freeze them for later. So save yourself some trouble and make some extra to keep on hand in the freezer!
Serves: 24 Ingredients:
2 packs vanilla flavored Oreos or gluten free substitute (I used GF, about 16 oz)
1 8 oz. cream cheese
1/4-1/2 cup pumpkin puree
1 tsp pumpkin spice
10 oz. bag White chocolate wafers for dipping
Decorations:
For Halloween- add some eyes and drizzle extra chocolate for a mummy ball or sprinkle with halloween sprinkles
For Fall themed- sprinkle with more pumpkin spice, crushed graham crackers or Fall themed sprinkles
Directions:
Crush the Oreos/cookies in a food processor until finely crushed.
Slightly melt the cream cheese until soft. Add to the food processor with 1/4 cup pumpkin puree and the pumpkin spice. Mix until just combined.
Line a pan with parchment paper. Use a cookie scooper or spoon and scoop out the mixture. Roll into a ball and place on the pan. Repeat until all balls are formed. Place in the freezer to firm up for at least 20 minutes but longer if desired. Personally, I prefer to have mine extra hard before dipping.
Melt the white chocolate in increments of 15 to 30 seconds until completely melted. Add a spoon of coconut oil to help with the consistency of the chocolate if needed. Dip each each ball in chocolate using two spoons until completely covered and then return to pan. Decorate to your desired liking. Let sit for a while to completely dry and then serve them up!
I hope you have as much fun making these as I did! I loveee making Holiday themed foods, it has always been one of my favorite foods to make. Happy Halloween friends! Until next time, Cheers! Magen Check
